IPS is currently seeking a Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) for a Full Time position.
Location: Downtown, Manhattan.
Salary: $26.00 per hour.
Full Time Schedule available:
- Sunday: 3:00pm to 11:00pm and 11:00pm to 7:00am + Monday to Wednesday: 11:00pm to 7:00am.
Requirements:
- Valid FDNY Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate of Fitness (F-89, T-89, or Z-89 Certificate of Completion) issued by the New York City Fire Department.
- Valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and emergency procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and lead during emergency situations.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Reliable transportation.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate the Fire Command Center and building fire alarm systems.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and safety incidents.
- Implement and maintain the building’s Fire Safety and Emergency Action Plan.
- Coordinate emergency responses with the New York City Fire Department and other first responders.
- Conduct fire drills and safety training for staff and tenants.
- Maintain accurate incident reports and inspection logs.
- Ensure compliance with NYC fire safety codes and regulations.
- Perform routine inspections of fire safety systems and equipment.
